Empress Resident Drowns In River
EMPRESS - Gordon Bowler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bowler, drowned in the Red Deer River near town Friday afternoon.
Son of the local CPR agent, his body was discovered in the water an hour after the boy had fallen in. Dr. A. W. McNeill applied emergency treatment for two hours before he was pronounced dead.
He is survived by his parents and a brother, Burley, of Alvin, B.C. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
